Weighing an Anchor’s Inspiration
After savoring two sessions led by visiting Brian Williams, NBC’s prominent news anchor, students wrote brief, reflective notes on their experiences and inspirations this week. We’ve gathered their writing here.
Most of the work on this blog represents their introductory attempts to write in a digital arena focusing on news and analysis of the works of professionals. This page captures their personal thoughts. Their assignment: Write on how Williams’s presence on campus and in discussions with them has influenced their thinking.
Williams participated twice in public events. First he cleverly moderated a panel on April 7 in an afternoon convocation with a handful of national figures focusing on major problems of the day. Then on Friday he addressed about 300 students in a ‘solo’ dialogue.
